Optogenetics just got easier.

The Light Plate Apparatus (LPA) - the most widely adopted optogenetics hardware platform is now commercially available through Flash Genetics. The LPA enables a wide range of optogenetics and photobiology experiments and is designed to be low-cost, scalable, and accessible to laboratories without hardware or software expertise.

Easy to use. Unparalleled precision.

The LPA is compatible with a range of model organisms, including bacteria, yeast, and mammalian cells, and can be used to control a variety of cell biological processes using light-responsive optogenetic tools. The LPA is easy to assemble, has an intuitive interface, and can be used to perform high-throughput experiments with minimal handling.

Flexible design

The LPA combines 3D printed parts, a printed circuit board, and swappable LEDs to deliver the most versatile optogenetics platform available. Compatible with reusable 24-well culture plates in both shaking and stationary format. Deliver up to two independent light signals in each well.

Iris

Free, open-source, and easy to use. Program simple to complex LPA programs without the need for coding. Iris works similarly to plate reader software by converting high-level experimental requirements into low-level hardware operations via a user-friendly interface.

Advanced users can also automate program design and create more complex programs in Python.
